I'm Esra, a photographer based in Bochum, Germany. Photography, for me, is a way of paying attention — to light as it slips through the trees, to a quiet street at dusk, to the small gestures people make when they forget the camera is there. My work moves between portraits, nature, street and travel, but the thread running through all of it is the same: honest images with feeling.
I shoot mostly in natural light and on location, where things are alive and a little unpredictable. I'm not interested in stiff poses or over-styled scenes; I'd rather wait for the real moment and let it breathe. That patience is where my favourite frames come from — a glance, a colour, a fraction of a second that would otherwise be gone.
Over the years my camera has followed me through golden-hour fields, lively festivals, spring mornings and the everyday corners of the Ruhr area. Every project is a small story, and I love finding the one image that tells it.
